The woodtip domain name sat dormant for over two years while I pondered what to say in a wood tip. In that period of time over 80,000 woodworkers and furniture manufacturing employes have lost their jobs. Hundred's of thousands of people have retired and many of them have taken up the past time of woodworking. These pages will offer bits of insight for anyone connected to wood - which is all of us.
The video introduction from Sean
A lot of woodworkers are passionate about their craft. Passion as compared to / and along with skill will produce different information for woodworking. I often reminded students that I am not passionate about, but rather very skilled in working with wood.
It's easy to get lost in woodworking forums, with passionate novices and skilled professionals, offering conflicting advise and suggestions. I don't have the passion or temperance to create another such woodworking site. What you will find here will be my bulletin board of wood tips that I have found valuable.
There is always something new to learn about wood. I learned much from students and I continue to learn from the professionals that I interact with. Passionate and skilled woodworkers are always welcome to offer their suggestions by using one of the contact forms.
Bulletins, links, resources and articles that I find relevant to wood can be found here. As this site develops you will find specific information on common subjects as pages are expanded.

My passion for woodworking does not extend to operating a custom shop or taking a full time job building furniture. (it's always a possibility though if this venture does not fly) In order to keep building the information that you can expect to find below, donations are gladly accepted.
